I just can’t believe y’all slept thru all the very vocal outcries over the past decades against segregation, racism, sexism, etc!!!! By a large percentage of Americans - the majority in fact! MAGAts only make up 25-30% of the voters. More eligible voters didn’t vote than voted!

Some people in this comment seem to think that this is a contest between atrocities. Also that because we as a nation have failed to wipe out discrimination & racism (as well as xenophobia, sexism & homophobia) that we’ve made no progress whatsoever. This is a false narrative.

Never said they weren’t being attacked. You need to re-read what I wrote. You seem triggered cause I said nothing like what’s going on now has happened in the US, certainly in living memory. That doesn’t erase awful things that have happened.

Yes I did. Horrific. Definitely not widely known at the time, certainly not on major news outlets etc. Again, that kind of violence was perpetrated on local & sometimes state level. The Feds didn’t do anything about it but also didn’t take part or even encourage it.

No it isn’t. What’s happening now is beyond racism. The Federal Government during McCarthy sort of came close, but we didn’t have invasions of our cities. The atrocities against Blacks were generally on state & local levels. This comes closest to the genocide against Native Americans
