Hello stranger. I live in the Twin Cities, which is how you pronounce Saint Paul. I spend too much time in front of the computer when I should be on my bicycle. I work in infosec.

When I saw the "Minnesota Nice. Mississippi Smarter." billboard I thought: is this offensive?

What did I hear in Alabama, the state that ranked 49th in everything? "Thank God for Mississippi."

The website claims that Mississippi turned things around. But does the ad play on that old perception?

I saw a listing on Zillow in St. Paul that features a hallway linen cabinet & drawers combo that is identical to one in my house, down to the drawer pulls

There must have been an era when everyone wanted closets and they were willing to turn hallway space into closet space

When I remarked on the unicycle's corn dog valve cover at the State Fair's bike corral, a man in a cow costume produced another corn dog valve cover and gave it to me

That's a statistically improbable sentence, but 100% true

Success! 71g bags of chocolate-covered espresso beans for $1.29 each, and four 25g dark chocolate coffee "buzz" bars for $1.99 each

I suspect the latter won't hold up on summer bike rides, but the espresso beans should be a good coffee replacement when there's no coffee to be found

Don't know if you've had Redondo's linguiça, they have it pre-shaped and sliced for musubi. In the past I've found it at United Noodles.

(This quality photo is directly from Redondo's website, they scrimp on photography and pass the savings on to you?)

This is not a drill! The Red Honey Double Ferment coffee from Yunnan, China, is back at Wesley Andrews in Minneapolis.

I loved this coffee so much last year and was sad when it was sold out. You should get some before I buy it all.

I have really been enjoying this coffee the past few weeks, which is fairly funky and not for all tastes. I picked this up at Market Gourmet in Duluth.

Buried deep in an article about removing fluoride from municipal drinking water that also includes scary text about how *high levels* of fluoride can affect cognitive abilities in kids

"Mandrake, have you never wondered why I drink only distilled water or rainwater? And only pure grain alcohol?"

Remember when Eugene V. Debs ran for president from prison? Me neither, that was in 1920. Bit before my time. But you can still buy replica buttons from the Debs Foundation.

He received 3.4% of the vote that year as the Socialist Party candidate. (Warren Harding won the election that year.)
