just because little red riding hood did not also get eaten by the wolf it doesn't mean that version of the story is somehow less little red riding hood. cinderella is still cinderella whether her shoe just fell off or the prince smeared tar on the castle stairs.

it's fine to change or even remove things when you tell or retell a mythological story, actually. if anything each telling should be considered additive because, guess what! each individual version is as real as any other!

There's this really weird like cultural conversation that kinda just boils down to "all games should have an easy mode" for sure that just makes me go ehhh. Like it's complicated, I can see where people are coming from when it's like "yeah I can never play X game bc I physically cannot (c)

ofc we should still make a meaningful effort, but that's like ....... heavy emphasis on the word meaningful. I don't know that writers of ergodic literature should have to give a shit about, say, audiobook adaptations, yknow?

look man I am of the belief that total accessibility for everything is just not possible and that's a thing we just have to accept?
