Appalachian, writer, fiddler, cat lady.
This is irrelevant, but seeing you on my feed reminds me that I really loved Sockington and his Twitter account. Thank you for that all those years ago.

I think I first came to your social media posts through someone else's post about "Starter Villain." As a cat lady, the cover and plot intrigued me (and I enjoyed the book!).

My mom referred to me and my sister (we're both in our 40s) as "adult children" and it felt like both words were equally true.

I moved to wool balls after my cat started eating used dryer sheets. I got tired of finding soggy bundles of barfed-up dryer sheets. (The cat is fine, but he consistently fails to learn lessons about what is and is not a thing he should eat.)

Nope! Even though we were in the coalfields. I learned about the Mine Wars in high school English when my teacher assigned us Denise Giardina's "Storming Heaven."

I bought them a witch hat. It was not well received. They tore off the chin strap and threw up a hairball on it.

My Appalachian accent definitely gets stronger whenever I go home or talk to my mom on the phone. But I wish it didn't weaken in the first place. It's a marker of an identity that I love.
