I poured all of that into this piece, layering deep, emotional tones with touches of warmth and light—capturing that moment of transition from heartache to healing.

✨ Close of Day isn’t just about an ending—it’s about finding light again, even when the night feels the heaviest.

One evening, I was struck by how the sky mirrored my emotions—moody & heavy around the edges but shifting into something softer & more vibrant near the horizon. It reminded me that even in disappointment, there’s beauty. & with every sunset comes the promise of a new day.

I painted Close of Day during an emotional time in my life. I had been so excited for a relationship that I thought was going to be something real, but it ended up not being that at all. It really affected me. I found myself turning to nature, running, & painting to process everything I was feeling.

The edges of this painting are dark, but the horizon glows with light. Because even when things feel heavy, there’s always something beautiful ahead if you just keep looking forward. 🌅

During that time, my evening runs along water became my escape. Being in nature, watching the sky shift into deep blues & fiery reds, reminded me that magic moments still happen & that I would see them again. No matter what I was going thru, the water always had a way of grounding me.
