Seriously though, they are great cats and I’m so happy they’re such good buddies!

I was considering looking into them! I’d heard good things years ago but never taken any classes with them myself.

I dunno, the last few years suggest a large % of humanity absolutely will refuse that challenge, even when it takes minimal effort.

But I am supremely grateful there are still people & professions who do rise to the occasion. Thank goodness for medical researchers. 🩷

As someone with a complex & currently incurable chronic illness (which the vast majority of my doctors know very little about) most of my hope for improved health is focused on the research sector vs. already-established medicine.

It’s appalling and baffling to me how much medical researchers are undervalued/underfunded!

The avg healthy person doesn’t seem to fully appreciate how crucial their work is to their own futures and society in general.

Every time some new platform pops up that could benefit us in some way, it seems like it eventually gets crushed under the relentless wheel of capitalism. 😐

One of the many annoying things about how much time my health has taken the last few years is feeling like I keep missing out on/not getting to fully utilize all the good parts of the internet while it rapidly becomes a less useful and more miserable place for artists.

I also don’t know how much I’d love what CGMA is/was being diluted among a much broader set of classes. I worry that would indicate a shift away from the high quality professional-level focus to something more generic.
November 6, 2025 at 12:10 AM
I don’t know much about the parent company but the fact that CGMA teachers apparently weren’t paid for their last classes and weren’t kept in the loop makes me very wary of the new owners. 😬

I’m not entirely clear why this is happening, but it looks like a mess and I have no idea if the school will be back or ever recover from this :/

Does anyone know if there are plans to start up an alternative or if instructors have moved to other similar platforms?

Is Schoolism still a good option? (CGMA is the only online art school I’ve tried)

Anyway, my kid wants to be Rumi for Halloween, and unless there are official costumes available already, I gotta figure out how to piece that together asap. 😅

But my position has never been “all ai/tech progress must stop!”

I just believe in approaching it responsibly and rationally with concern for impact/job loss/etc, and also disagree that it’s currently conscious/sentient.

Also folks who keep replying as if I’m attacking the entire concept of ai: my original post should make it pretty clear that’s not my goal here.

I use ChatGPT often to support challenges managing my life with ADHD and chronic illness.

I have issues with CERTAIN uses depending on impact
