Note that Caitlyn never hits Vi again (other than the time Vi asks her to so the plan against Ambessa is believable).

These are very different dynamics and situations. And to compare them is pointless. And to classify these as DV I think defeats understanding the

Only for that trust to be thrown into unknowns when Vi stops Caitlyn. In her ANGER and GRIEF, Cait hits Vi and leaves. She gives a regretful look before leaving. Vi most likely makes the decision to stay away because of her hurt and uncertainty, which leads us to the time skip

It is also a MUST to remember Caitlyn JUST lost her mother to Vi’s sister. The fight with Jinx in s2 act1 is tumultuous for so many reasons. Jinx wants to die, vi is torn on who/how to protect, Caitlyn is in the throes of grieving. Cait and Vi finally think they can trust each other

Through s1 they are working on trusting each other and getting to know one another. They do not have YEARS of history. They’ve known each other for what? A week? By the time the season discussed happens (Cait hitting Vi with her rifle) not much time has elapsed.

Second guesses his actions. Jinx is still in a terrible mind and manipulated, so she tries to take them both out with the grenade.

Now, let’s look at CaitVi which is a VERY different relationship.
They meet for the VERY FIRST TIME in S1 with Vi as a prisoner that Cait is taking a chance on trusting

At the moment being discussed (their first fight on screen) both are hostile and attacking because, yes, they are enemies. This has LITERALLY NOTHING to do with Ekko’s race. It is their history. It is when he remembers Vi being willing to fight for Powder and get her to change that Ekko

I’m not going to sit here arguing anything because I think that’s useless, but I will spell out plainly what is happening in the show:

Ekko and Jinx have had YEARS to establish their roles in Zaun and enough interactions to make them enemies/hostile toward one another
