So true. It takes time and consistency to develop trust with people, especially those whose trust has been eroded as a result of domestic abuse. Services must be properly funded and victims must receive a supportive response every time they come forward, whoever they choose to disclose to.

Whilst these alerts aim to protect the public in emergencies, they could put victim-survivors of domestic abuse at risk - especially those who rely on hidden phones as part of their safety plan.

I read this article with interest - thank you for posting. As a youth project, teenage relationship violence is something that we support young people with a lot and I feel that youth workers are uniquely placed to do this - is this sector an area that you are working with @ktbg1.bsky.social?
