This division line is also seen between sectors. Politicians are Greenlandic, Private Business leaders Danish. And on key demographics, where politicians have very different education, residence area and gender composition than other groups.

Most importantly, the power elite network is fractured by country of origin. Those with Greenlandic schooling (in orange) occupy particular areas of the network, those without (in black) other areas.

This power elite has many of the same sectors as we have seen in our analysis of Denmark. However, politics (28 %) and state (18 % civil servants and 17 % from state owned corporations) are much stronger.

We identify a power elite of 123 individuals as the central circle in an extensive affiliation network data on 3412 positions held by a total 2052 individuals in 456 affiliations.

We find that around half of the 416 individuals in our analysis have taken a degree that installs some sort of technocratic ethos. In our interviews, lawyers pay almost no attention to their professional background whereas it is a strong identity for both politicial scientists and economists
