and unfortunately i deeply, *Deeply* hate this particular style of interaction that seems to have become the default for all creative work. if i want to build an audience i have to yell into the posting abyss, and every time i do i feel like im about to fall in.

what I really want is just. ao3 but with a direct message option. i want to talk to people more! i want to chat about worldbuilding and hear about your worldbuilding and not feel like this distant artist who just drops works and disappears. and right now the way to do that is social media
