Watching the Hughes fire burn the beauty of the Lake Castaic and am heartbroken. Heartbreak feels unrelenting these days. This beautiful area was an escape for me during the pandemic. Hoping for everyone’s safety and a fast end to this- 5k acres from 50 so rapidly.

6 out of the 7 students I assisted with early decision apps got into their schools, including 2 to Brown, 1 to Northwestern, 1 to UPenn, 1 to Emory, and 1 to Northeastern. I also had an MIT Early Action. It’s been a good week, and I love seeing their reactions when then call and text me

He says “ahhhhhh” with more emojis. I tell him to take a freakin breath now. More emojis from him in several texts - they become less coherent but quite hilariously and clearly celebratory. It looks like visual depictions of wheezing with excitement if that were possible in emojis. There are tennis balls and anchors and dragons and clowns. There is no rhyme or reason. Only relief.
