My middle child has mild dyslexia and graphic novels unlocked a world for her she was struggling to access. Once she gained confidence from reading graphic novels she was able to move onto traditional fiction and is now an accomplished reader with great reading comprehension. Reading is reading!

It feels like the anti-intellectualism has ramped up to a visceral desire to just not know *anything*. If the administration wants to control what everyone thinks as true- getting rid of anything factual is definitely a place to start.

My 11 yo daughter was late to reading due to some medical issues- graphic novels broke through the struggle. After that it was Hunger Games and then -Yes!- Divergent that turned her into an avid reader. Forever thankful.

We do my husbands family on Christmas Eve- immediate family in Christmas morn- and my side of the fam for Christmas dinner and Christmas afternoon. It works and it’s awesome.

Play kitchen year was one of my favorite parenting years/ ours went through three kids and then onto two nieces before going out into the wilds of the “buy nothing” subscribers. Enjoy the heck out of yours!
