#Lebanon: Israel strikes the Beirut southern suburbs today for the first time since a US-brokered ceasefire went into effect last November.

Earlier, 2 projectiles were launched from southern Lebanon. One landed on Lebanese territory, the other was shot down.

Hamra, Beirut where last night’s Israeli strike took place hours before the ceasefire. Looks like it hit a currency exchange shop.

Many displaced families in the commercial neighborhood have already packed up to return to southern Lebanon and Beirut southern suburbs.

“Additional progress” made in ceasefire talks with Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri, said US Envoy Amos Hochstein.

Hochstein heads to Israel later today to “try to bring this to a close if we can.”

Talks yesterday continued late last night and reportedly earlier this morning.

Hochstein is expected to go to Israel next. But there are fears he’ll jet back to DC if talks fall apart.
