Would be a ballsy trade, but can't get worse than what it is now right? And would show to the fans management actually cares and wants to win, and is willing to take a chance to do that.

We could retool the team around Nylander, a much cheaper Tavares, Marner, and some new blood, with almost 15m extra in cap space.

Like honestly, it would take some balls for Treliving to think about it. But 9 years in, Matthews has proven he can't win in the playoffs, huge regular season guy, great goal scorer, not enough effort and heart to win in the playoffs.
