I keep isopods and a Kenyan Zebra Skink named Bazel. I also draw (sometimes)!

Look at my absolutely adorable, pastel orange boy. He's a T- Butter African House Snake and I already love him to bits.

Moved over 100 A. vulgare Gem Mix to the new bioactive enclosure. Hopefully the weather is cooperative after next week so it's safe for a snake in the mail.

The A. vulgare Gem Mix colony is getting an upgrade this weekend. With a roommate who's on hold for a few weeks until it's safe to ship a reptile.

The Porcellio werneri arrived and their flatness does not disappoint.

Got the enclosure that had the failed cubaris amber culture rebuilt to start a new colony of porcellio werneri that should hopefully do much better with how dry the air gets here. The armadillidium vulgare colony is still going strong.

He allows minimal handling currently which means he's less likely to throw a fit when I have to mess with his dirt later this week.

Does Bazel hate water? Yes. Does he try to eat the pipette as I water his plants with? Also yes.

Most rewarding part of having a Zebra Skink so far is seeing his little brain working real time. He's very interested in my hands now that he's pieced together I've been controlling his feeding tongs with my hands, and that makes them Not As Scary by extension.

He's beauty. He's grace. I think he fell on his face.

Bazel's started watching me instead of hiding completely out of sight. He's also started coming out when he knows I'm preparing his bugs and will accept a few bugs from the tongs if offered. Still pretty skittish, but he's getting more confident each week!

Nothing to see here. DEFINITELY not a skink. Not at all.

Yes, I take terrible pictures of my skittish lizard from 15 feet away. Yes, he might as well be a cryptid. He's also dug 2 MASSIVE tunnels. I expected nothing less.

He's progressed to not dashing for cover every time I walk by his enclosure!

This phantom blue pleco is one of my favorite fish my dad keeps, and this is the first time we've seen it in weeks. Most of the time I see a flash of blue before it's back behind a rock. It actually let me grab a decent picture this time.

Provided the hoard with an offering of cabbage and carrot scraps. I think they like it.

I love how I will go weeks only seeing 1 or 2 Ambers at a time and then one day there's 4 or 5 just chilling. Really makes it worth getting a nice enclosure that lets me see inside without disturbing them.

The 300 gallon aquarium is fully cycled, so my father got some Discus fish he's wanted since he got back into fishkeeping.

Very excited to see the mancae are developing their colors now. I have A. vulgare Gem Mix, so there should be a lot of variation.
