I like the idea of training a LLM to purposefully not have knowledge of something very important and seeing how it behaves without that knowledge.
I for one would love to see an LLM be trained without the knowledge of what a human is. Only having the knowledge of nature without people. Just curious

don't think the thing could make it far. I always harp on the fact that the thing isn't a hive kind and "every little piece is an individual animal with an built in instinct to survive and protect itself" eventually they would compete with each other more and more for survival until they all die

I don't think anybody was debating whether or not they died or trying to have hope for anything like that.
The ending is ambiguous in a lot of ways but if either or both of them were still human by the end of it they were completely fucked

2, I would love to see a film following a patient zero for an outbreak who we know is a thing becoming more paranoid of other Things because of their seeming competitive nature to be THE THING the apex version of their species as they fight to survive and fight to procreate their strain specifically

My vision for it would be a movie that explores more in depth that the Thing variants are different entities and different evolutions of the same creature and appear to have some sort of supremacist evolutionary hatred for their less evolved forms as they assimilate more and become more evolved

I agree with your reasoning but I do believe a sequel would be great with the condition that it takes place somewhere else entirely.
I would love to see the same monster somehow get out of the Arctic and see a psychological thriller of normal people in the outside world dealing with it
