Started reading Don Quixote before the trip because it was Spanish. Didn’t realize Madrid had a big statue of him

1. Dune Part 2

Wow! A great sequel where they really punched up the writing and visuals and designs of the first part. Dune is great an Denis really made it his own and lovingly crafted this movie. The action and humor were great and the set design was phenomenal! Big Worms!!!

2. The Wild Robot

I did not expect to like this movie but wow. Its very much a kids movie but there's just so much emotion and love to it that you can't help enjoying it. They kept the ideas and plot very original and the characters were all great and the animation was wonderful

3. Deadpool & Wolverine

Exactly what you think its going to be, for better or worse. I had a lot of fun and enjoyed watching these two. A lot of jokes and references that are great if you've been watching Marvel movies since the 90s, which I have. This hole was made for me.

4. Alien Romulus

I love the Alien franchise and this did a great job of including itself in it. Formulaic but we had a great cast of characters and a lot of interesting ideas. Did a good job of building tension, even if it got stilly at times. Maybe too many throwbacks though.

5. Nosferatu

An incredibly well made movie with lots of great visuals and direction. It gave the Dracula/Nosferatu story its own identity while playing on different themes than previous ones. Great sense of dread and foreboding that follows you throughout.

6. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes

It didnt quite have the emotional weight of the predecessors but it was fun without being too sequely. The hundreds of years later world they painted was interesting and it gave us a fun main cast to follow. I just like watching the monkeys

7. I Saw the TV Glow

Oof, this movie is a full body experience. An emotional ride from beginning to end. I knock it a bit because I don't think the message landed as well as it should of, but maybe I was just expecing more from all the hype. An important movie to watch though.

8. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice

A 20 year later sequel that did a good job of justifying its own existance. Very funny and still felt original and creative. There's maybe TOO much going on in this movie but you never care too much. I expected nothing and had a great time.

9. Sonic the Hedgehog 3

The most recent movie I saw so I may be a little biased. These movies are never, like, good, but my god I just can't quit them. Nothing about the plot makes sense but the characters are enjoyable and most of the jokes land. 2 Jim Carreys was a lot of fun.

10. Love Lies Bleeding

I honestly dont remember a lot about this movie but I remember having fun. Dark and tense but also zaney and maybe a little too wacky at times. Everyone in the movie is awful but in a fun way. I never knew what was going to happen next. Lots of big muscles
