Update time! Ive been doing a lot of planning lately, and I wanted to share what’s next for Checkpoint Cafe. I’m slowly turning the site into what I’ve always envisioned it being, a cozy little corner of the internet where we celebrate games with excitement, not snark. That means more articles, more of being myself, and more ways to enjoy what I’m writing. Substack update: I’m going to start posting some of my articles here at the same time they go live on the main site. The Games with the Greatest Soundtracks post was the first one to make that jump, and I’m hoping to continue doing that with future pieces. Site changes: I’ve also been revamping the website. New logo, new layout, new features, just generally making it feel more alive and welcoming. New article series: One thing I’m excited about is a recurring series called “Why I love”. It will be a set of spotlights that highlight games I adore and think deserve to be appreciated. There’s already plenty of negative takes out there, so I want to make space for joy, passion, and positivity. I’m still learning as I go, and things are definitely evolving, so thank you for being patient and supportive while I figure all of this out. Seriously, if you’ve read even one thing I’ve written, thank you. There’s so much more to come.
