It's pretty easy to believe if you read history. This is how the US been, just usually out of the spotlight.

Realistically, this is not the result of one election. This is the result of historical forces, a continuous slide to the right over at least 40 years, a failure to reckon with the brutal, violent underpinning of the American project, etc....

Cop cities under Biden. Cop cities under Trump. Obviously there are differences between the two, but neither party is particularly interested in liberation. Let's not pretend that Dems care about the people, they care about the post-war order. MAGA cares about the Lost Cause and accelerationism.
