Saw this sign on my grocery store an hour ago.

Wasn't there yesterday:

I mean, it seems to me that the sum total of what they ran on DID work....as attested by the clear differences between the places where they ran and everywhere else. How you tease out the efficacy of individual messages from that is beyond my pay grade.

@sarahtaber.bsky.social fyi, (because I can't dm you and I thought you should know).....I posted a screenshot of your excellent soybean/Civil War/cotton min thread in reply to a comment over at The Bad Place and..... it's getting a little bit of traction. Just thought you should know.

No, I mean the 6600 murders since 2008.

It was just completely the wrong word for a policy of 'reduce or reallocate funding' (which obviously is not a slogan either) - because it DOES NOT ACCURATELY DESCRIBE THE POLICY

People weren't misunderstanding it - they were HEARING it in plain English.

And it fucking baffled them

This is the other side of that equation....what YOU seem to think justifies mass murder of civilians, for decades on end.

Regardless....none of this is happening in London.

And somehow the *thousands* of Palestinians killed by Israel in the years *before* 10/7 never enter the chat....
September 23, 2025 at 10:10 AM
Yes, this was THE fundamental fact of the race.

Oh Politico, COME ON - it's not an 'assassination attempt' when the 'perp' calls the law ON HIMSELF BEFORE attempting anything.....
September 4, 2025 at 10:16 PM
Oh come the fuck on, MOST money in US Senate primaries is from out of state and ALL of it is taking a side and backing a candidate.

That's not 'fuckery', that's 'politics'.

The 'fuckery' in THAT primary happened with the OTHER candidate:

Except that your evidence that they 'made an exception' is a poorly written dishonest article spotlighting the 1-2 most extreme voices it could find. And even THAT article said:

Actually about 20% don't.

And that's probably no worse a 'sustain' rate than traditional dieting and exercise regimens

The diet that isn't susceptible to bounce-back hasn't been found yet either because humans have a very hard time modifying behaviors over the long term.

This one. They're taking it specifically to rule that drawing majority-minority districts is by definition a violation of their bizarro universe alternate versions of the reconstruction amendments:

Let's also not forget that they went after (top co=conspirator) Rudy's phone in April 2021- just a month after Garland was confirmed:

Let's not forget that the investigation started long, long before TRump's declaration as a candidate forced the appointment of an independent counsel.

Also Rhino's BEG, SCREAM & SHOUT - BIG OL BOX OF 60's SOUL is another great muti-disc set.

In the 'single standalone cd' division I might well choose this one that was based on Peter Guralnick's essential book.

Is it cheating to choose all three of the COMPLETE STAX SOUL SINGLES box sets? Or this box set?

(If so, then I nominate the *original* pre-box set 2 lp version of the Atlantic one)

I really don't believe in deleting comments that have lots of conversation attached to them. (Bluesky gives people WAYYY too much control over other people's words)

But I would like to point out that I followed up this brain damaged comment less than 3 minutes later with THIS.

Forgive me.

Right. But that's a very, very limited population.

I'm guessing at least 85% of us use these cars to get groceries, so it's kind of hard (and intimidating!) to even imagine doing it any other way. Hence my curiosity.

"Lots of content up to modern day too."

Huh? At least in the US:
