That will recover - congrats on the mortgage

Bin disputes on Next Door are my favourite - that and people snitching on their neighbours during hosepipe bans

I’ve invested a lot of time in deliberately appearing obtuse online for this very reason. Yes I have opinions beyond the shallowness of my social media posts, but there’s enough opportunity to discuss those in the real world. Social media, for me, is fun.

My Twitter is just dogs, TV and general nonsense so I’m pleased with that. Instagram is dogs and pole dancing

Just the one in Y1 - it was quite good. Some of the first-year modules (looking at you critical theory) were a bit dry so it was nice to have something with a bit of contrast.

Think I’ve picked it up from our studio as that seems to be where it’s going around at the mo

Did you get to take any creative writing modules?
April 14, 2025 at 1:21 PM
I think you’re probably right - but you don’t really notice anything at the start or, as you say, mistake it for hay fever - then it’s too late and it’s been shared. My husband hasn’t had it but I know of a few who have recently.

They fitted together best in relation to the use of language and how it tied in with philosophy of mind and language acquisition. Don’t ask me much more about it - it is nearly 20 years ago!! I’m guessing you enjoyed novels more? Where did you go?

We did romantic in Y2 as a core module and modern lit. The honours component mod I did in Y3 was the 20th C American novel - so it spanned modernism and post-mod, and I had to do American lit as a core mod in Y3. Other than romantic, I didn’t do any poetry after Y1 - couldn’t fit the modules in

49, not 39 🙈

I did joint honours with philosophy at Oxford Brookes. As I was joint hons, I had the option of two “half-sized” projects rather than a 10,000-word diss, so I used this book and The Crying of Lot 39 in relation to Chomsky’s Reflections on Language.

Read it for my degree - this is the first time I’ve ever come across someone else mentioning this book. What made you want to read it: are you a big mystery fan? Or maybe a lover of post-modern lit?

That’s just too cute 😊

We’re a good looking bunch, aren’t we! ☺️

Trying to cross the road to go to the shop where Biscuit Man usually is

Will he remember individuals who really show him some fuss? Mine does! He also remembers places where treats have been given. There’s a pub he’s been to about 4 times in 6 years, but someone once gave him a sausage and now he always tries to go in. There’s also a shop where he always gets biscuits

He is 🥰

It’s still only early April so bound to be pretty chilly first thing. Night temps are still low. But I have a mate reckons snow is on the way in about ten days. Not convinced though

Are you talking about literally now or in general?

It’s like the Emperor’s New Clothes of motorway conveniences.
