I see executive power spread between individuals, not one individual wielding so much power. I see term limits for the Supreme Court. I see a future free from the divisions of political parties. I see national referendums by the people for the people, outside of Congress.

When you see your neighbor, recognize that they want the same as you. The ideals of generational aspirations. We have it in us to move forward and create a better life for all. It’s in our hands, not the elites. The systems that keep us down can be broken and replaced. We have the power.

Truly, let’s see the power of those ideals, uniting people across generations, sharing a vision of a better future. That’s the thing: we are more alike than we are different. Most of our ancestors came here for a vision of a better life, a trend that still continues to this day.

Yes, this country has a racist, colonial past. Yes this country has many inequalities. Yes, there is a problem with the elites. But what have people always strived for in this nation? Freedom. Equality. Liberty. Justice. Equity. Prosperity. Peace.

We have only been a nation for 248 years, a drop in the bucket of history. In that time we have faced insurmountable odds. How could a nation of no shared culture or language be united? How could a country of colonizers, indigenous, and immigrants unite? Ideals.
