Shout out to the great staff at the VA hospital in Des Moines. I accompanied my brother to two of his appointments there today and the level of care and compassion was simply extraordinary. Government workers care and they deserve our respect and gratitude.

Is the IRS already broken? I filed my 2024 income taxes weeks ago through Turbotax. Then a letter arrived saying the IRS needed to verify my identity at IRS.gov/VerifyReturn. It' been nonresponsive and the 800 number it listed as a backup is so overwhelmed with calls that it hung up. So no refund?
