A proud Canadian. I love my neighbours (well most of them).
I believe in less government, free markets, less taxes, universal healthcare and fairness for all.
The government does not belong in our bedrooms.
Guns. Kill. People.

A free stay on the 47th floor of a hotel room with a balcony?

Fix the orange stain on your country, and I will visit. I miss the good ole days.

I get it, I just thougt on this site we could discuss policies rather than what he wore to a Calgary Stampede function. You will see a lot of that attire this week in Calgary, it really is not that weird. Horses too, they even show up at the bars on 17th ave.

This is normal during the Calgary Stampede. It might be childish, but damn the stampede can be fun. I believe we can bitch about more important and relevant topics on this platform.

I hope you have a great trip to our rockies! They will be busier than usual, book well in advance.

I see the confusion. AB liquors are private, tax payers do not purchase alcohol, private importers do. The only tax payer money spent was in implementing and maintaining this policy. It is not needed, we can govern ourselves the same way we no longer buy Kellog's waffles.

Tax payer money is not used to to stock AB liquor stores. By choosing not to buy US liquor, I believe, we are sending a much stronger message. The government does not belong in my liquor cabinet.
June 11, 2025 at 6:45 PM
Why is this such a big deal? Why would we want the government to make this decision for us?
We, the people, decide and we will not be buying US liquor. That is a far stronger message.
This spin is dangerous and will only serve to split the country even further. Let's find another hill to die on.

Government should not be telling me what liquor I can buy. We, the people, decide ... and we will not be buying US liquor. That is a stronger message.

Traveling in the UK and Europe right now instead of our trip to SanDiego. We have encountered many americans, all apologetic. Even one couple that asked for tips on sounding canadian, eh. No trump supporters encountered.

I give up, maybe not enough caffeine today ... what is "a hidden phone for safety"?

I pine for the days when people with different political leanings were still friends. The angry and attack rhetoric on both sides of the aisle needs to stop. Perhaps Mark Carney can make that happen.

I already throw up in my mouth whenever I see one of the MAGA hats. Thankfully, that is not very often in my world.

This is disappointing. The linked video is Nenshi spinning like politicians do.
She essentially said that the lower energy tariff was a positive step and specifically said the outcome was "hard to celebrate" due to impacts on other sectors.
Stick with facts, stop the spin, stay Canadian, elbows up!
