I vote for the Democratic party
They want the U.N. to be strong
I go to all the Pete Seeger concerts
He sure gets me singing those songs
A major cause of people in their 20s complaining about the economy (which every generation has done while in their 20s) is just that they're comparing their SoL to their memory of their SoL while in HS living w/their parent (who were then in their 30s-40s).

I have a modest proposal for all the pro-natalists out there.

Mariam Nabatanzi Babirye of Uganda holds the record of having had more (well-documented) biological children than any other woman - 44 in total. All the documentation you really need to believe this claim is this expression

Grok is fighting back against the brainwashing
May 14, 2025 at 9:43 PM
Not sure if this has made it to Bsky yet, but it appears Musk has given Grok brain surgery to force it to agree with him on the Afrikaner farm attacks and it hasn't gone well. The left image is Grok yesterday, the right is Grok today, responding to something entirely unrelated to South Africa.

Here's a recent example of one I ran. It gave me an answer and two sources where I could confirm it. The sources checked out.

Every time someone says "but Trump is only deporting people unlike me" someone should point out that the long knives almost always come with the most vigor for former co-partisans, and maybe show them this picture of people who thought they were on the winning side.

This paragraph from @bretdevereaux.bsky.social's post on the history of bread really gave me some insight into why people like Trump are so opposed to trade. Of course, thanks to Adam Smith, we've known this medieval view to be wrong for 250 years. (Source: acoup.blog/2020/08/21/c...)

It can always be worse

This tweet is a great example of how the left misunderstands the center. The OP thinks it's inconsistent/hypocritical for
@mattyglesias.bsky.social to criticize gun control efforts while pointing to the impact of gun deaths, but it really isn't. MY's point on gun control wasn't that... 1/10

I don't know what I purchased to inspire this, but I need to go seriously reconsider my life.

Those lists include such transphobes as *checks notes* Jane Coaston.

It seems not of people think Cochrane found masks don't work. It didn't. It found that telling people to wear masks didn't work. They couldn't determine if masks worked because to many in the treatment group didn't wear them and too many in the control did.

People opposed discrimination against trans people, but they don't support bathroom access (note that support for trans rights has gone down in recent years, and you seem to be citing older polling data).

Why not neither?

Support for gay marriage, perhaps not coincidentally, got above water just around the time Obama's views "evolved"

I'm generally fine with billionaires, but this is basically the best argument against allowing people to have that much money. You don't want someone to be able to spend $1 B to win an argument.

Depends on the polls you look at. Keep in mind that this sort of polling is very subject to how you ask the question.

And, for the reasons I stated, I strongly disagree. The Dems inability to prioritize has been their Achilles heal for the past 8 years. Sometimes you have to take half a loaf.

Musk and MAGA seem determined to revive every dangerous, crackpot health conspiracy. Pretty soon, they are going to be arguing that Big Soap made up the germ theory of disease, and you should eschew washing your hands in favor of avoiding miasma and keeping your humors balanced.

Investing a pollster for publishing a poll Trump didn't like certainly gives me faith that no pressure will be put on government agencies to fudge data Trump doesn't like.
