My kid's treasured green owl (no relation to the mascot of a certain language learning app) that I crocheted for him years ago sadly lost an eye to being run over by our minivan. After explaining that I'd have to take it apart to replace the eye, he asked me instead to crochet an eyepatch.

I've finally done it! I've surpassed Norwegian with Chinese in duolingo!

It's amazing how incompetent I still feel in Chinese, compared to my half competence in Norwegian...
List of languages I've studied in duolingo, with Chinese beating out Norwegian by all of 70 XP. Followed by Spanish, Arabic, Korean, and some others. French takes the bottom spot. Honestly, who would study French?
