That was one of the first things I noticed when I made the switch. I suppose a concern could be third parties artificially inflating the popularity of posts to get them to the top of a “trending” page, but given the moderation I’ve seen so far here, I feel like they could combat this somehow.

I just recently started reading frequently again after not reading much for years, and the best piece of advice I got was to just read a little bit every day, even just a few minutes.
It very quickly becomes part of your routine and becomes easier and easier with time.

When I built my pc I got a crazy deal on a 4tb 7200rpm hard drive. I use it for storing random files and games I only plan on playing very rarely. Whenever I tell people that I have a hard drive in my PC, they act like I’m some ancient alien. Glad other people are in the same page as me.

My girlfriend works for our local library and had multiple trumpers come in to claim that letting the local democratic org use their meeting space was “choosing sides.”
Some of them are even convinced libraries are the part of problem. They are so brainwashed, it’s going to be devastating.

Genuine question here: I totally understand apprehension and distrust regarding AI in general, but why do you take such an anti-AI stance?
If you need to complete a task and AI could potentially help, why not use it to do just some of the work, and then clean and finish up the response yourself?
