Anecdote is not the singular of data.
I'm 100% there with him on the nonsense that is hedonic/quality adjustment but I would have liked a simple "alternative CPI" calculation to prove the point out. Unfortunately I think starting points like "you need to earn 140k to live" lose a lot of folk right out of the gate.

I loved this article, but most people don't have kids that need 32k of childcare do they? I mean til they go to school sure....

Yep, but if there are people in £2mn houses without kids at private school, we need to rile them up too!

Actually underrated movie imo.

I must say I really wonder if any of these people who moan about "the state of London" ever actually come here...

To be fair the documentary on the last guy who did this described a pretty film-esque level process.

To be fair at least one of his close colleagues committed suicide, I think the NR management genuinely regretted what happened.

Probably says more about him than about Handsworth, but I don't have firsthand evidence.

Didn't even know it was still a thing. Probably had one of those last in 2008 when cycled JOGLE.

Even God would get fired as an active manager. Just shows you how extreme behavioural short-termism is as a tendency.

Speaking from experience they need a lot of marinade and don't have a lot of meat.

I bought some 50s. Then I quickly came to the conclusion that I'm not patient enough to hold them to maturity and any trading gain will be surprisingly small. I sold most of them after that. Might buy some for kids, a surprise nest egg for their mid-30s.

Oh brits absolutely despise children. Relative to say the Spanish or the Portuguese. Speaking as someone who frequently travels with three badly behaved but charming looking children.

To be fair, it appears that the TV show is trying to steer away from this in favour of sort of serial monogamy for Rand. But I may be proven spectacularly wrong....

Apart from the fact that he's an appalling author? I mean yeah, he did a job on it. But it took all my willpower to keep reading. I'll accept it's better than the GRRM situation 100%!
