Lawyer. Boston. Views are my own. He/Him. Not afraid to block.
I'm pretty tired of the "cracks are emerging" narrative. "Cracks" were "emerging" during the Epstein fiasco. During Signalgate. During COVID. Let's stop pretending that MAGA is somehow always on the verge of breaking up based on Just One Thing Happening. It's either a lie or delusional.

I tend to agree. I think there's a lot of wishful thinking on the left about this.

Under the guise of neutral principles. The entire project of originalism (a political, not interpretive, project) is to remove constitutional problems from the realm of contested political arguments, while at the same time imposing political preferences, under the pretext of neutrality.

This is interesting, but my friendly advice is to slow down!

I have been waiting to see this piece written, and I am 0% surprised by it. I imagine that it will be worse when they try to fill the ranks of ICE with 10x more people.

Nothing about leaving tech behind is hard. You just do it and don’t look back.

It’s everywhere. Search engines. Books. I hate it.

I have been disheartened to see Catholic priests justifying the actions of the current regime as necessary, or a small price to pay for rolling back gay and trans rights. I hope this is a minority.

He’s right.

The only question is now is how bad is it going to get before the tide finally turns, as surely it will - one way or another.

Reminds me of the warden’s speech to andy dufresne.

"Deporting" is not the right word.

For as long as I've been alive, congressional Republicans have been nothing but bad faith actors, and 100% responsible for the mess we're in -- be it climate, immigration, or our current fascistic government.

That is *literally* what Vance is saying.
July 1, 2025 at 1:29 PM
Yes this is a constitutional Article I crisis feeding into a political crisis. At some point if those are not fixed the law will give way too.

The Supreme Court will claim they are due strict scrutiny.
