- The two “Coreys” appeared in 9 films together throughout the years.
- Joel Schumacher says that the Frog brothers are his two most favorite characters in any of his movies. I can understand why. They are great!

The line “death by stereo” is completely impromptu. And still a classic line in horror cinema to this day. Sometimes the best lines are the ones that come out of nowhere!

Kiefer Sutherland speaks very fondly of #TheLostBoys. And he even mentioned the fact that to this day people still come up to him and tell him it’s their favorite movie of his.

The crew talks about how stage 15 was a complete replica of the real house and yard for Grandpa’s place. Haim even talked with enthusiasm about how the stage house matches the real one in Santa Cruz, all the way down to the tree leaves.

The director of photography, Michael Chapman, was delighted to get asked to work on #TheLostBoys. This was his very first vampire movie. And he had always wanted to work on a werewolf or vampire film. He loves old time, cheesy horror movies. Me too!

The vampire blood has something interesting added to it. In order to give the blood a thicker and otherworldly appearance, lots of glitter was mixed in with it. Once you know this fact, you will notice it. I always thought this was a cool fact!

Barnard Hughes was Schumacher’s only choice to play grandpa. He said they were lucky to work with him, because he was filming on the TV set, The Cavanaughs, at the time. But the producers of the show allowed him time off to work on #TheLostBoys.

Edward Herrmann was excited to be on #TheLostBoys. He read the script and was ready to play a different role than he had been playing for quite some time. He liked that Max was a very domestic like character, who was also very father like.

Schumacher thought it was a pipe dream to get Dianne Wiest on this film. She had just won an academy award. But when she said yes, he was delighted because she was one of his top favorite actresses.

It wasn’t until after playing the Frog brothers that Feldman & Newlander realized how funny their characters actually were. They were 100% sincere with their “tough guy” characters, and that’s where it became comical. Their seriousness comes off funny!

The Frog brothers were supposed to be “tough and military” like characters. In order to get them to be "butch" enough, Corey Feldman & Jamison Newlander were asked by Schumacher to watch Stallone and Chuck Norris films for reference.

#TheLostBoys is the first film that the two “Coreys” (Feldman & Haim) worked on together. But because of it, they formed a strong friendship and would continue to work on several more projects together. They bonded over movies and arcade games.

Originally, Joel Schumacher had it in his head that Star would be a petite blonde with a pixie cut. Jason Patric introduced him to Jami Gertz, and Joel quickly decided she had to be Star. I am so glad Jami was Star! Love her character too!

At first, Jason Patric didn’t want to do #TheLostBoys. Schumacher met with him for six weeks straight to try and convince him to be in the movie. After all that time, he had finally said yes! Schumacher was grateful, because he had no second choice for Michael.

Sutherland also has the least lines in the film, but he has such a strong presence to him, that you’re just naturally drawn to his character. He's my favorite character in #TheLostBoys! Who is your favorite character?

When Kiefer Sutherland was young, Schumacher saw him in the film At Close Range. After that, he knew he was a great character actor. He was only 18 when he played David on #TheLostBoys.

Joel Schumacher enjoyed this film for a lot of things, but his favorite was the cast. He said it had been a group of special and unknown actors that made the movie what it was. He felt that it is because of them that the film is a cult classic.

Richard Donner’s wife had been the one who had suggested to her husband to talk to Joel Schumacher about directing #TheLostBoys. She had worked with him on his very first film and was impressed with his work.

Richard Donner had been the original director for the film, but he had signed up to direct Lethal Weapon at that time. He ended up being an executive director instead.

#TheLostBoys was done by director Joel Schumacher. It was only the 4th film that he had directed. When he first heard of the film from the President of Warner Bros, he thought it was a kids vampire movie & poked fun at it. He read the script & then loved it.
