Carving a spoon out of hazel with my tiny little folding Buck knife. My best attempt at a spoon so far! All my others just sheared with the grain, but Iearnt and have been super careful this time.

Last year, this riparian area was absolutely lousy with Himalayan balsam. I made it my mission this year to eradicate it, at least from this small patch, early in the season. Looks like it worked! Nothing but nettle and willowherb!
