I have seen this before on a few tornadoes notably Selden KS in 2021 and Cope CO in 2018. I am no expert in microscale tornado research/nuances by any means but I would imagine it has to do with vortex breakdowns going on in the inner circulation near the surface. Would love any experts to weigh in!
