Oh - just read that back - the grounds were formerly Alan's, not the house...

Years ago I lived in a little house in the grounds of Court Place Gardens - formerly belonging to Alan Gardiner. I've only scratched the surface of his Egytian Grammar, but keep meaning to get back to it.

I'm not sure if it's a pyramid, but this triangle means 'to give' - used at the start of most funerary inscriptions "an offering the king gives"

I've studied a tiny bit of Ancient Egyptian but haven't come across a pyramid hieroglyph - not surprising, given how many hieroglyphs were used across such a long time. Myrrh is a word of semitic origin, so could maybe be cognate with AE. I do know the AE word for ebony is ibni.
