Only nder the assumption your home increases in value. You could pay 25+yrs before putting a dent in the principal. Recipe for a bigger disaster than '08

The people losing their jobs were most likely never invested to begin with. I think it usually takes some time for those job loses to start effecting the broader market

It will be interesting to see what the new #'s look like under this administration. The food costs were/are definitely a problem but when housing in some areas doubles in less than 5years the and half of new homes bought are people buying investment properties that pushes a lot of people out.

This line of thinking can be used not only for luxury goods but almost all purchases. I think however the more important factor is the use of an item. Quality purchases > quantity of purchases. If you are using it and getting joy from it than it's value is worth more than the long term investment.

Trump has consistently caved or pushed down the road most of his policy's that the market no longer believes anything he says. I do think we are dangling on a cliff however.

A ton of republican business owners would have to be arrested then......they all hire immigrants to pay cheap wages and line their own pockets and then complain immigrants are taking over the country.
