okay yes i watched all 10 eps today (i'm a professional, trained for years, have a phd in tv studies... 😂)

- very much enjoyed all the emotions
- love a story about a band that makes you miss being in a band and/or want to start a band
- actors did a great job playing/miming
- final gig = damp men
satoh takeru, damp, singing into a mic. he's got a floral blouse and white collar, earrings, in-ear monitor, hair in face. subtitles: "Thought it had everything" (song lyrics) (was the music in this show good? idk, it was emotive and the people making and listening seemed into it, so that's all that matters) medium shot of the stage, machida keita just off-centre in the foreground, playing electric guitar, white tank top, damp hair, sheer black shirt about to slip off his shoulder. other band members and stage lights are in the background. from earlier in the evening, our hero in the floral blouse and white collar, not yet damp from exertion. one thing i enjoyed about the costume/styling in this was that the guys wore different earrings (or no earrings) whenever it made sense to, rather than sticking a fake diamond stud on an actor and calling it a day. not from the final gig but machida keita looked really good in this drama (even when not damp) and i want to honour that. description: medium close-up, neutral face, wearing black, hair very nice. well done #glassheart #jdrama

You're funny, but also serious, but also a kind of weird grey zone. Honestly, keep doing what you're doing. It's pretty cool, in my option. Though a lot of my friends would disagree.

dk-weight cotton maintains structural integrity, and i think that's neat

This statue made me laugh in July 2016 and I've kept the lock screen across a couple of phones. One day I should probably change it...

Yesterday was a full proper day off, so we braved the tropical humidity to visit a shrine, a historical memorial park, and a monastery
Lotus pond with many many lotuses in the foreground (some perfectly in bloom) with aesthetically sprawling trees and traditional buildings in the background. This was at the shrine, honoring an emperor/generals from the Three Kingdoms period A good big rock, on which sits two bonsai'd trees (or I guess they're the Chinese version of bonsai). Anyway one of them is a palm tree, which I didn't know was a tree that you could make grow in a tiny pot. This is also from the shrine Temple at a monastery! Red walls, swoopy roof, red walls, lanterns, and a row of trees in pots along the front edge. A tree on the right side of the frame leans in but that's only bc I was shooting on 0.5 zoom to get as much of the building in there. A modern building peeks through in the background, because this was in the middle of the city Pagoda in the background, big rock to the right, and aesthetic potted tree in the front. The Du Fu Thatched Cottage memorial park was probably my favourite of the three sites we visited, bc it was quieter and less full, but also focused more on gardens and nice views

it's been a weird couple of weeks: I've been ill, which has not been fun, but I recovered/healed enough that they cleared me for a scheduled work trip

so now I'm currently in China
Chengdu riverside: very green river, small boats moored up, a line of green trees behind, modern buildings beyond, blue sky with fluffy clouds. It was 32C and very humid, which I think you can tell from how all the leaves look tired A giant model of a giant panda peers over a ledge, eight storeys up. Its back end is over the street below, our guy here is a tourist attraction and gets people into this luxury mall for the photo op. Evening sun peeks through clouds above the panda's head, and a tall building is in the background. The panda and clouds (and tower) are reflected in the glass that's in the foreground. From the Chengdu Museum, which was a great stop for fans of ceramics. This photo has a great frog guy, and a pale vase with flowers and a bird in the background. The label for the frog guy read: 绿釉蛙形座瓷帽筒 清 ( 1644-1911年） Green Glazed Porcelain Hat Stand with Frog Shaped Pedestal Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) So i guess it would be for those bun-shaped officials' hats that have the red strings covering them? At least that was what I found when I searched for Qing Dynasty hats... idk bro it's a tower made of giant Louis Vuitton luggage, topped with an umbrella, in the courtyard of a fancy fancy LV shop that effectively uses older buildings near a temple (the temple is now on the edge of a luxury shopping district). Sharing this pic bc it's kind of weird, but also the dusk lighting made the colours of the blue sky, electric lighting, and trees all turn out nice
