Absolutely agree with this equation @thebda.bsky.social

This is exactly why so many of us wanted to be part of our profession.

Communication skills really are a key part of the delivery of dental care and why continuity of care is so valuable.

A dentists we believe in prevention.

And the shocking sugar levels in these baby pouches isn't' inevitable.

It's a commercial choice.

"A result of the diets that they're having when these teeth are first coming through."

Baby teeth start coming through around 6 months old.

These food pouches are high in sugar.

Having removed teeth for children as young as 2 years old, who were experiencing pain and infections, we need action from the manufacturers now.

Tooth decay is almost always preventable.
Parents of infants are still being marketed products more sugary than Coke.

It shouldn’t take us naming & shaming the worst offenders to bring about needed change.

Voluntary action has failed.

Govt need to step up & force industry to do the right thing.

Dentists across 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 say Payment Reform is progress.

That risks being undone by reckless NI hikes.

But what’s clear is this can’t be the end of the road if we’re going to make NHS dentistry fit for the 21st Century.

This #WorldOralHealthDay please take a minute to hear Nick’s story👇on why access to dental services is so important. @thebda.bsky.social
"Dental care is health care."

Nick had a dental infection.

Unable to get an appointment, he ended up in intensive care.

We can't afford to go on like this.

A message for every patient, every politician & policymaker this #WorldOralHealthDay.

“We really are on a knife edge” says new Gillian Lennox.

We’ve seen scenes that belong in another century.

The Scottish Government need to double down, and secure the pipeline for dentists and the dental team.

NHS dentistry needs a fully funded workforce plan.

An unprecedented show of unity, with a simple message for the General Dental Council.

We want to ensure our regulator’s next Chair can bring knowledge, insight, and empathy from the coalface to the task ahead.

Your next Chair should be a registrant.

Great advocacy from Nick Marshall @thebda.bsky.social

Speaking up can make a real difference for our patients and colleagues.

Reflecting on my own first media experiences with this article, it felt like a big step but I’m so glad I took it.
