It's BLISS!!! I'm 55 and I don't miss it a bit. Of course, it helps that I found the love of my life, a hot younger man, when I was 41. 🤣For once I'm going to say it: "Not all men" stop noticing us as we get older.

It's a cheap ripoff of Norman Rockwell's 1947 Going and Coming which does not depict the mother as a slave. (It does depict stuff that a lot of us remember: no seatbelts, no baby seats, huge cars, kids hanging out the windows, smoking in the car... 🤣)

This is my "trad-wife" great-great-grandmother, Rashe Zadvin, at about 80. She was born in Lithuania in 1837, and had 16 children, at least seven of whom died before five. Systemic antisemitism ensured that she was poor her whole life. I've never seen a woman more tired than Rashe.

My own aunt nursed me when my mother got an infection that prevented her from doing so. My aunt's baby, my cousin, was only a few months older than me. I'm the one face down here. The sad irony is that my aunt died of breast cancer a few years later, leaving these three little girls behind.

Fine by us! That said, I met my husband on a dating site because he was so sick of being matched to "woohoo" women with beers that he limited his search parameters to women with post-graduate degrees. I was 41. He was 36. Thirteen years now, and we're going strong.
