This #FossilFriday let’s drop below the Permian-Triassic boundary, before the mass extinction. This stem-reptile is a pareiasaur: one of the largest reptiles of the Permian.

This specimen is from #Zambia and was one of the best fossils I found as a new grad student on my first trip in 2011.

Where did our lost rhinos roam?

Distribution charts based on bone finds (individual dots) and habitat suitability for the four fluffy rhinos of late Pleistocene.

These are of course approximate and might not include all obscure finds. #Sciart

One of the illustrations created for an interpretive panel for the USFS. (I did a bunch of native bush florals as well)

This was commissioned to show the non native Spruce root system compared to the native Larch's system at a camp ground where several old growth spruces were felled.

Moving on over from X, so I thought I‘d introduce myself! I’m Charlotte, a first year biology MS student at Sam Houston State studying Botswanan rodents. I am interested in paleobiology, conservation, zoology, wildlife management, and outreach, and I’m looking to make new connections here! 🦎🐿️🐟🦌
