Daily reminder to not give the fae your true name ✨
A screenshot of a document: "Not to worry, Constable," he reassured. “And please, do call me Arthur—I’d hate to think you feel uncomfortable during your stay in my realm.” There was a slight flicker in his gaze, then he asked: “May I have your name as well, Constable?” “Oh, of course, it’s–” Alfred cut himself off. Now wait just one second, that one boringly reasonable part of his brain cut in, listened to for once in Alfred’s life. Wasn’t there something about the fae and names? “I, uh– I mean. Well, see, my name is– Actually, I don’t think I should tell you that. Right?” He looked at the fae prince—Arthur—as though he might give him confirmation about how best to avoid having his name, soul, whatever it was stolen. Predictably, Arthur did no such thing, which kind of sucked for Alfred, who was currently sifting through the endless, contradicting labyrinth of half-remembered Reddit posts that made up his knowledge on the fae. Tragically, his brain did not come equipped with a search bar, however.
