it's just that this year had some shows that were both critical darlings and popular, so more people than usual are upset ig

i adore frieren with all my heart and soul but solo levelling winning the cr awards didn't even make me blink - it was such a foregone conclusion. cr awards has always been a mainstream popularity poll, nothing new!

the solo levelling/sao comparisons only work in terms of them both being male-oriented action and frontrunners in defining some of the tropes of their subgenres.

i think for me its that twitter is already trash + my account is full of 10 yrs of shitposts so its just like throwing trash in a garbage can. but over here i feel like im throwing something onto a pristine lawn haha
