Mindless action has never been my thing. If you read Pistol Shrimp, you’re going to get guns and fight scenes, for sure. But expect to find some real depth to these characters and stories. I want you to miss these characters when their stories end.

I only write stories I want to read. If I get bored while I’m writing something, I switch gears and write something else. That’s why I’m so proud of our comics. These are books I would read.

Ran by the comic shop today and picked up @luismorocho.bsky.social new Star Wars book! So proud of this guy! And I’m glad to see all of his practice with drawing sea creatures in Pistol Shrimp is paying off in this story! 😂

I need a Youngster (gen Z or Gen Alpha) to tweet this picture of Pistol Shrimp and say, like, “Yo, this is gas!” or something along those lines that your generation would say. Thanks.

I’m going to be a very hated man once more people discover Pistol Shrimp and find out how long they’ll be left on a cliffhanger between issues. 😑

In case you’re wondering, there’s no AI involved in the writing process of my comics. The rough draft is about as rough as it can be. 🔫🦐

I firmly believe that if you just keep putting good work out into the world, people will eventually find it. Call me naive if you want. 😂

Doing some more work on the Pistol Shrimp script today.

Never waste a character! If you have a character who only appears in one or two scenes, that’s no excuse to make them boring. Give them personality! How do they talk? What are they interested in? Do they have a sense of style? It doesn’t take much and it adds a ton!

I also wrote a new comic while I was away! It’s for sale on www.kingbrillipcomics.com

It’s the final 48 hours for the Pistol Shrimp #1-3 Kickstarter. I don’t plan to enable late pledges for inventory count purposes, so time is running out on some cool rewards!

Only $800 away from our first stretch goal! Usually the last three days are a big boost for a campaign, so we might be able to pull this off!
March 3, 2025 at 1:14 AM
Kickstarter analytics say I haven’t gotten hardly any backers from this site, so gotta step up my game. Check out how good our book is looking!

February 24, 2025 at 3:57 PM
We’re only $279 away from goal! There’s got to be a few more people out there who love goofy action comic books!

In a world of reboots, remakes, and unoriginality across all media, it's the indie world where you'll find new ideas and stories. If you want to see something new, be it a cowboy shrimp comic book or something else entirely, it's worth it to look for the indies.
February 19, 2025 at 12:26 PM
Every Kickstarter we gave backers the chance to have their name featured in the Thank You section. I’m just curious if after the release of #3, will there be anyone out there that had their name in all three issues?
