How on earth do you write so much?
I’d add: Prof Thomas Munck. A lovely man, brilliant historian, good socialist. Beloved by many former University of Glasgow students. That he served freshly brewed coffee in his seminars may have helped.

Well, I’m biased because he was my PhD supervisor and is my friend, but I would have to say Prof Callum Brown. To work with Brown was a delight, he was the best teacher anyone could ask for, and his courses on the histories of sexualities and religion attracted the most interesting students.

And they do this while being devoted to doing as little as possible and spending as little as they can on repairs.

A hereditary monarchy which is also a religious office, is not only an embarrassing relic, but is entirely incompatible with the project to re-establish Scottish sovereignty. It would be hoped than any future referendum would set out a path to republican settlement.

A local taxi can make that work, still, but Stranraer station is deathly place, unbelievable that they’ve still not got a replacement organised. I’ve been getting the bus for nearly 20 years now…

I usually take the bus, the car is only ever taken when it can’t be avoided. I have also in the past got the train and a taxi to the ferry terminal as I can have a picnic on the train.
