maybe im too much of an anarchist but immediately painting everyone who wasnt a staunch atheist as a Traitor of the Revolution always felt very bigoted to me, especially to the proletariat who rely heavily on religion as a source of hope in a hostile world

this is not to say religion cannot be harmful, indeed a majority of historic wars were fought on the basis of it. rather, it is to say religion - when followed by an individual, rather than the institutions themselves - is not necessarily counterrevolutionary and may be revolutionary itself
