A few shots from the MNRR Open house today

Oh car of the rooftop, what is your wisdom?

This is what happens when you let the urges win

Thinking about the cursed rethink one put out awhile back now. So many curious additions.

Im sorry but your box cars remind me of 2fort, now even more so with the weathering

A small smattering of incidents from my time so far.

Dispatch this is Allentown Passenger

I feel like ph7 wouldnt even be so bad if it was a consistent train color, not the nausea inducing swoops on every single car like the airos will have. This version from I think CS just looks so much cleaner and less vomit inducing.

A few things. A W-1 full rebuild Im currently undertaking. And also a handful of E60s that I am modernizing.
July 14, 2025 at 7:58 PM
Before/after on the W1 after soaking for a bit. The extra bits are still soaking
July 12, 2025 at 9:23 PM
One of these seems a bit different from the other.
July 10, 2025 at 5:49 PM
A very rough project Im starting. An old NJCB W1 with a ton missing. Will need a ton of work but I am hoping to turn it into a MILW painted engine. Gonna fully redo internals and DCC it. Hopefully add some more fun features like operating pantos, and cab interior.

People were chasing this train by land air and sea today, also probably my only good picture from today.

I notably am not talking about extensions here. Im using MTAs own cost estimates for station rebuild here. This is from NYC council, which puts the average rebuilt at about 70-75 million. I was a bit high on my previous estimation for total stations, but you would still be able to do 8 stops a year.

I mean they literally made the roll signs for it. These ones are taken off an old B1 subway car. It was expected it was gonna occur. People were ready, the government were ready, and then we couldnt separate the project from the Pennway expressway and it was lost then.

Finding a bit of lost potential in these roll signs. Rhawn for those that do not know was supposed to be the terminus for many different Roosevelt Boulevard subway plans. Definitely feels like a bit of hauntology given the train these signs were taken from never got to run to Rhawn ever.

Reading through some of the old CA-NV HSR counter proposals and somehow the fucking map appears. I love how cocaine this is.

My final post of 2102 for now
May 27, 2025 at 12:43 AM
Final video of the day is 2102 departing Port Clinton for Reading. The starting chuffs as it leaves go right through your body. Hardly a more visceral and intense machine you can experience anywhere nearby.
May 25, 2025 at 5:04 PM
Back to Port Clinton, 2102 approaches just north of the station.
May 25, 2025 at 5:00 PM
Next stop: Zenners, with 2102 passing the crossing at speed.
May 25, 2025 at 4:55 PM
Before leaving the Lehigh Gorge, we would catch the return of the F Units.
May 25, 2025 at 4:53 PM
On the bridges we would next catch 2102 leaving Jim Thorpe. Also shown in the background is the foamer horde trying to get *the shot.* Although it’s decidedly better when the train actually is going over the bridge.
May 25, 2025 at 4:51 PM
There would be a bit of time to kill mid day, so we went to scout out our next locations and caught a surprise for the regular Lehigh Gorge trains. Normally this train is powered by one of the numerous GP38/39 the RBMN has, not today.
