New song out today called Madeline.

It's my favourite song I've ever written (so far)

Link to all streaming in the post below, to stop being de-boosted by stupid algos...

My new song 'Madeline' is out at midnight tonight!

Unless you're in NZ, Aus etc. in which case it's already out.

Spotify numbers suggest it's already benefiting from coincidentally having the same name as a track on the Lily Allen record.

Pre-save link in the following post.

Gf out for the day so it's been gym, brunch at home, York City FA cup win on the wireless and a new Creamery (made in Manchester 🐝) bridge pickup finally installed on the Tele.

Absolutely phenomenal as Saturdays go, tbh.

The only question now is chippy tea, chinese or curry?

Worth remembering that you can change the voice of your inner monologue to Wallace from Wallace and Gromit if you want.

Mine mostly says, " Ee come on, lad!" a lot and brings up cheese several times an hour.

Fully giving in to the social media nostalgia loop at the moment.

Listening to Travelling Without Moving by Jamiroquai after watching a reel on IG.

The first cool album I had on cassette as a kid and it still sounds transcendant.

It influenced me more than I realise.

Reached the stage of life where I want buy a can of a Lynx Africa just to smell the 90's again.

Blue (Da Ba Dee) by Eiffel 65 stalked me today.

This morning my gf mentioned it. I told her I had the CD single and loved it as a kid (I was 10 and it's catchy as fuck, what could I do?)

A couple of hours later, I found that CD in a box looking for something.

Now this on YT!

So cool living in the future and having the data to back up and visualise how COVID is currently destroying me.

Don't let today's high fool you, I just got a little more sleep. Been so sick since Sunday night.

All individuals, aren't we?

Just thinking about being a kid on Saturday night in the 90s watching Big Break, then Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman followed by Noel's House Party.

That was living.

The difference in the US and rest of the world cover art for "Is This It" is pretty wild in retrospect. Totally different vibes, one clearly superior.

Were Americans really that square?

I get the logic of switching out "New York City Cops" after 9/11, but do it for everywhere.

My semi-regular message to the world:

If I win the Euromillions tonight I won't tell anyone.

However, my dream guitar - the mint condition 1967 Fender Coronado II for sale in Seattle that's been on my Reverb watchlist for ages - will be marked as sold.

I can't believe that, to my knowledge, nobody has done my dream of cloning Vlaams Friteshuis Vleminckx in London.

It's a place in Amsterdam that makes the greatest chips of all time, Flemish style, served in a cone with a huge array of sauces to choose from.

Maybe I should?

I've had this guitar 20 years. It's a 1981 Gibson Marauder in devil red, one of the latest and rarest versions of this model.

Recently almost swapped it for a Korg Mono Poly synth, as I don't play it enough.

So glad I didn't! We've reconnected and it's going nowhere.

Just had a fella in from Thames Water to put in a new meter.

It was quick and I managed some acceptable small talk. He's from Stratford, I correctly guessed he supports West Ham, then on to Olympics and development since 2012 etc. - classic, textbook banter.

Now I'm exhausted.

Just seen the BBC's Sound of 2025.

As it's on the "Introducing..." page isn't it supposed to be promoting new artists?

A panel of 140 industry people picked a 6x Grammy nominee, 2 Mercury Prize winners and a band with their own film starring a big name Hollywood actor.

Why?

I'm playing a couple of my late friend Chris' songs at his memorial gig alongside many lovely and talented pals.

It's at The Boileroom, Guildford on Saturday March 15th.

All proceeds to be donated to the mental health charity, MIND.

Ticket link in the next post...

Trying out Fedica so I can cross post my BS to the 3 microblogging platforms I frequent.

This is a graphic from the latest @bennjordan.bsky.social video and it shows why you may wish to switch from Spotify to Qobuz.

Happy to see alt text supported.

(Sorry Benn for all the tagging)

Last night I found and played a game I've been looking for, on and off, since the late 90's. Not knowing the name made it very difficult.

It's called Prime Solver by Minerva Software on RISC OS. We used to play it on Acorn Computers at school and I loved it.
