I only saw Zappa once, in November 1974 at the Spectrum, Philadelphia. It was one week before Bowie was scheduled to perform on the Young Americans tour at the same hall. When the Bowie shows were announced that night, the audience booed.

First saw Lyle Lovett and his large band with KD Lang opening, it was a good night.

Not that this has anything to do with Gene Lockhart, last night I watched The Kennel Murder Case (1933), a Philo Vance (William Powell) mystery. As soon as I heard the voice of the lead detective, I had to do a cast search. I had heard that voice many times; it was none other than Eugene Pallette.

I never saw Led Zeppelin, the one opportunity I had to see them, I opted for a local band playing in a bar. I'm not sure I made the right choice; I can remember Led Zeppelin's name but not the locals.
