What is the name for the heavy, repetitive, mostly instrumental, trance-like bachata (or maybe merengue?) that plays loud out of car windows on south streets in Williamsburg? Any artists/DJs known for this style?

Funny how NYC halal carts have regional styles for gyro wrapping: uptown style, half wrapped in foil with the gyro exposed, fork stuck in, and downtown style, full foil wrap. Unsure where the line is exactly that separates the two.
