If it’s local, we could design them ourselves. Vector DB’s are easy to set up and the local LLM’s are decently powerful. The whole point is that you control your personalized DB rather than one AI company. It’s not perfect, but it should help prevent vendor lock in to some extent.

It would all rest on how much detail the db has. The local model could easily look for the info it needs, and if it can’t find it, just ask a follow up question. Take the answer and update the db - so now you’re building up the personalized db over time.

There very well might be a business model for hosting these personal vector dbs for individuals. Kinda like how PayPal abstracts out your bank info. Except it might be easier because all you’re doing is augmenting prompts.

For example, what’s the cost of new tires for my car? The local LMM should be powerful enough to query my vehicle model and add that to the prompt for the more powerful models.

Wonder if we can create a local vector db with all my interactions with any ai system, then use a local lmm to take my request and augment it with personalization, then send this personalized prompt off to my sota model of choice.

Yeah, it’s pretty useful once you get a handle on how to ask for what you want.

It’s awesome, but you get the technical debt as quickly as you get the code!

I was interested in how they manage the hourly load mix, and it seems like imports and exports are one of the main levers—one that appears more balanced in 2023 compared to 2015. www.energy-charts.info/charts/power...

Ah, that makes sense.

How is oil only ~2% share of production in 2023, but the eia has it as 37% of total output? Maybe imports? www.iea.org/countries/de...

Happy to share the shape files. They aren’t official. I think I got them from an academic years ago. They are good enough, though.

I like small multiples to show hourly data across zones. Here is an example of a load by hour by zone in PJM.
