The economy is downstream from the natural world.
"Because capital is oriented toward producing abstract value rather than meeting material needs, there is no point of abundance at which this process stops."

Wasn't sure whether the timing allowed for this to be intentional or not, but I thought the following quote from @alybatt.bsky.social's "Free Gifts" was a good takedown.

Natural beauty or artificial ugliness? I sure know what I prefer.

In what I can only describe as the most-on-the-nose thing I've encountered in my career, nameless, faceless AI-slop enablers want to build a 1,200 MW data center that will, according to a Yale biologist, "nuke" the habitat of a tiny beautiful fish found only in Jefferson County, Alabama.

Many people know people who have been victims of gun violence, or have been victims themselves and probably don't want to see that kind of image while trying to keep up with the news.

The point of the text in the image is valid, the hypocrisy is fine to point out, but the image of someone basically at the moment of their death is completely gratuitous and adds nothing to the argument except shock value.

I'm not offended, dude, I just think it's highly inconsiderate to indiscriminately expose people to real-life gore without their permission.
September 11, 2025 at 12:43 PM
Man, maybe don't randomly post gore in the replies.
