I'm all for supporting and patronizing this platform, but I'm hesitant to visit here much because, like every other platform, it becomes a place for people to post article after article after article of all the things I *genuinely* do not want in my field of vision.

Ninety percent of social media is people in their 20s learning a new word they don't know how to use properly and repeating it ad nauseam. Then, they find a new word they barely understand and start the process all over again. Ever seen a puppy get a new toy? It's like that.

It would be nice to have a place to write random thoughts and ideas without having to worry about who I might have to block in response. Will this place be that place? Probably not. The oozing stench of what passes for politics and discourse these days will no doubt leak its way over here, as well.

Posting here again after a long while away because Threads has become a place for boring normies to try and boost their engagement levels, whatever the fuck that means. It's the only social platform where you can get a million views and four likes. Please be better, Bluesky.
